WORLD HINDI DAY CELEBRATION AND HINDI CULTURAL COMPETITION
Hindi is the fourth most spoken language of the world, the mother tongue of around 258 million people and the official language of India. Outside India, Hindi is one of the three official languages of the Republic of Fiji. A considerable proportion of population use Hindi in more than 20 countries.
The World Hindi Day is celebrated under the auspices of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, for the promotion of Hindi world-wide. Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC), under the Embassy of India in Cairo offers regular classes for Beginners’ and Diploma level courses in Hindi and Urdu. This year, MACIC will celebrate World Hindi Day in association with Ain Shams University. The certificates and medals for the successful candidates in the regular courses will be distributed in the World Hindi Day celebration programme to be conducted at Ain Shams University on 08th Feb. 2008. Moreover, an MoU will be signed between the Embassy of India Egypt, and Ain shams University to start a Hindi Chair at the University beginning from next Academic Year. It would be the second Indian Chair at Ain Sham University along with the existing India-Chair in Biotechnology.
Cultural Competition:-
To mark the International Hindi Day, Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC), is also organizing cultural competitions in the following items:
1. Hindi Essay Writing
2. Urdu Essay Writing
3. Hindi Poem Recitation
4. Hindi / Bollywood songs (Karaoke – For Egyptians and Foreigners)
5. Hindi / Bollywood songs (Karaoke – For Indians)
6. Bollywood Dance (Solo – boys/girls)
7. Bollywood Dance (group – for boys/girls/mixed)
The winners will be awarded with attractive prizes along with medals and certificates in the public function on 08/02/2018 at Ain Shams University to be attended by the dignitaries including the Ambassador of India and the President of the University. Moreover, the most deserving performers will invited to perform in various cultural events to be conducted by the Embassy in future.
The competition will be conducted in a convenient venue in Cairo in the first half of February 2018. Interested persons/teams may register their names directly through an email to (hindiday@indembcairo.com) on or before 6th Feb. 2018. The format of email and rules and regulations are given in the Embassy website.

Terms and Conditions of Participation
1. All dresses, materials and costumes required for the dance have to be arranged by the participants themselves.
2. Participants can read from papers or gadgets in song competitions.
3. If the number of participants are very high a screening/elimination round will be arranged before the actual date of competition.
4. A jury will be appointed by MACIC for the evaluation of the performance under each item and the decision of the jury will be final.
5. MACIC has all rights to make any changes in the time, venue or terms and conditions, and to cancel the competition fully or partially.
6. The minimum number of participants in the group item is four members and the maximum is eight.
7. The details of all team members should be furnished in the registration email for participation in group items.
8. One of the following topics will be given for Hindi Essay Competition on the spot. Participants have to prepare for all of these topics:
· 1. Mahatma Gandhi aur Ahinsa
· 2. Hindi Bhasha aur Uska Mahatw
· 3. Bharat aur Misr Ke Sambanth
· 4. Bharateey Tyohar
· 5. Vividhta mein Ekta
9. One of the following topics will be given for Urdu Essay Competition on the spot. Participants have to prepare for all of these topics:
